It Can Be Comfortable To Live In An RV

Did you ever consider the peaceful yet adventurous lifestyle you could lead by living in an RV? It is such a tempting thought, yet for some, it may seem daunting. The very idea of having no real roots can be overwhelming – but it does not have to be like that any longer. Look at all of the people leading this lifestyle right now. They are succeeding – and you can too, by following some advice designed to make an RV a home and life on the road a stress free adventure.

One of the first things that you are going to have to do whenever you are deciding whether or not to live in an RV is to weight out the pros and cons of whether or not owning a house would be worth it. Now, this next piece of advice is more conjecture and opinion, but it still goes a long way. A lot of the people who live full time in the RVs claim that they feel physically and mentally healthier and happier. They do not have any deadlines, they do not really have any stress. You have to remember that recreational vehicles are not like they used to be some years ago. You no longer have to rough it when you live or stay in one of them.

You do not have to worry about being unavailable. You no longer have to be cut off from the people you love. You can get it in contact with them literally everywhere, and in a number of different ways. You do not have to wait for payphones and things like that. Wireless internet is a life saver there, as are cell phones.

Still, some of the practicalities of life still need to be addressed, especially if you still have property or do not fully own your recreational vehicle yet. Meaning, there are bills to pay, there is banking to do, you may have to visit the doctor. The internet and increasingly advancing cell phone technologies make all of that easier than it has ever been.

The internet is definitely something that is incredible – if you have a laptop and do not have the means to quit bringing in money, there are a ton of different home-based businesses available that just need an internet connection. So wherever you park your RV that night, you can still work!

By living in an RV, you have the opportunity to live a largely easy going and stress free life. Just make sure you consider the pros and cons. Be sure that it is the right choice for you and your family.

Go Camping With The Family In A Trailer Tent

While campers and RV’s are often the item of choice for those who like to travel and camp out, trailer tents and their cousin, the folding tent, are gaining in use and popularity. While trailer tents and folding tents naturally are not as luxurious as many camper are nowadays, they do have their own unique advantages, the most obvious ones being that they are way cheaper to buy and way cheaper to maintain than campers and RV’s are.

You can find quite a few companies that make either folding tents and trailer tents. You can find on the market tents that are smaller, for two or three people, or you can find larger ones that are good for families or groups of friends.

Buying a second hand trailer tent is a good way to get one cheaper if you have a limited budget. There are a number of retailers that sell second hand trailer tents and you should check out a few of them. Be aware, however, that those retailers that do stock second hand trailer tents not only do not have as much variety as they do new tents but that the second hand tents sell out quite quickly.

Folding campers are another good option to consider. Like trailer tents, some are larger and some are smaller. If you get one of the larger ones they also come with amenities such as electricity and drainage, which are always super convenient to have.

Of course you will want to check out a few shops and/or internet sites before actually purchasing either a folding tent or trailer tent, no matter whether you are buying a new or second hand trailer tent or folding tent. You should have a clear idea of how large or small a tent you are looking for, what, if any, amenities are important to you, and of course, how much it costs and how much money you have in your budget to work with.

One final thing on trailer tents and folding tents is that they are not anywhere near as hard to put up as most traditional tents are. Naturally, since there are different brands and different types of trailer tents and folding tents you would not set them up all the same way, but generally speaking, they are quite easy for anyone to set up and not only that, but they are made from stronger material than traditional tents (look for one that says it is made from Ten Cate). You do not have to worry about leaks if it rains with a trailer tent.

12 Volt Needed For Your Caravan Antenna

Are you travelling now or plan to take off soon? Travelling in a caravan or motor home to discover all the wonderful places around Australia is an amazing adventure. Have you had the experience of trying to get TV reception in different places? It can be really easy and then it can be almost impossible. Is this what you have noticed? In a nutshell: one seasoned traveller of 30 years told me this, “If you have an antenna with a booster, you have to make sure power is getting to the booster to make it work properly”. I couldn’t believe how easy it was.

We ALWAYS like to hear from users of the Saturn Antenna. It is much better to solve the problem while you are travelling rather than wait till you reach home 2 weeks/2 months/2 years later. There is nothing more frustrating for you than to have to endure an antenna that is not working. And there is nothing more disappointing for us to have someone call and say, “We have been travelling for 9 months and the antenna has never worked.”

Two customers were very lucky that we met them on the raod. We were able to stop and work out their problem. In Renmark, one customer had a 12volt problem. No power was reaching the antenna. This is an your first port of calls for someone who has noticed that the Saturn Antenna not working.

Check the INSPECTION HOLE ON THE FRONT OF THE ANTENNA, COVERED BY A BLACK RUBBER BUNG (All antennas made since May 2010 have a clear inspection hole – NO rubber bung). A GREEN LED LIGHT WILL BE VISIBLE IF THE BUNG IS REMOVED AND THE ANTENNA IS HOOKED UP PROPERLY. IT IS SIMPLE, IF THERE IS NO GREEN LIGHT, THERE IS NO POWER TO THE ANTENNA.

The Saturn antenna will not work if the 12 volt cannot access it. Then it is a simple matter of tracking where the 12 volt is failing. Perhaps it is the plugs on the cable? Or the cable?Your van’s TV sockets?The power supply? The 12 volt point or 240volt point? Check each one. When you repair the fault, your antenna will start working again.
