If you feel the need to relieve some of that daily stress, or just want a bit of bonding time with your family or friends then what better way is there to do this than to go on an exciting camping trip. If you are planning to go out into the wilderness away from any for of human life then taking the right food with you is even more important as you will not have access to any convenience stores out there. Food that requires little preparation and which are easily cleaned up afterwards are ideal for these sorts of trips.

Nevertheless the food must not be something that is easily perishable. Any sort of fresh food you will need to keep in a cooler otherwise it will not last long.

If the idea is to bring a cooler with you then that is okay as long as you eat the easily perishable items first. You do not want to b slaving over a hot stove for long periods of time when preparing meals either so frozen meat or vegetables may not be a very good idea to bring along with you. These foods do not taste as good as they would at home either when they are done this way.

If you do the planning well in advance and list the foods that you are taking and their methods of cooking then you should not have any problems. One easy solution could be to bring along something simple such as oatmeal.

What is easier than throwing some oatmeal into a pot of boiling water then adding a little flavoring? You have a quick breakfast waiting for you which can set you up for the rest of the day.

The dirty dishes could also be a potential problem so it may be a good idea to take along some wipes or dish soap for the cleaning. Bottled water is an absolute must on these trips too. The only other solution would be to use the natural water boiled over the stove and add some purification tablets.

Just remember to plan ahead and follow these guidelines and there is no reason why you should not have a good camping trip and come back fully refreshed.

Going To Camps As A Great Way To Bond With Kids

One of my favorite memories of the single life is camping. Without children to pack for, I could be out the door 30 minutes after making the decision to go. What a feeling of freedom!

Now that I have children, camping just isn’t the same. Many parents who take their children camping own trailers and generators. Using a generator to run the same appliances you would use at home just isn’t the same for some of us.

Can you still “rough it” when camping with children? Of course you can, and like anything else, you can use it as a teaching opportunity. Have your kids help you plan what to bring. Determine which items are actual necessitates and teach your kids to pack these items first.

After the necessities have been packed, let your kids select a few of the other items. Ask them which items will make the trip more fun and which items will easily fit into their bag.

Food is the next thing to plan. How are you going to cook your food? What utensils will you need? Make sure you plan ahead so you don’t spend all day and night cooking or realize you have all canned food and no can opener.

Every parent has heard the phrase “there’s nothing to do.” Camping is an opportunity to teach kids to find things to do in nature. Go walking, watch the stars, play in the dirt – enjoy the surroundings.

Nature provides an endless supply of entertainment. Children who have never been camping may be skeptical of this at first, but they’ll soon see how much fun can be had without all their gadgets of modern technology. Lead by example by appreciating all that nature has to offer.

Now that I have children, camping will never again be as easy to plan for as it once was. But it is more rewarding than I ever dreamed possible.
