In the past few years, technology has changed the world as we know it. Camping is no exemption to the every changing society we are living in. Nowadays, a lot of campers don’t sleep in tents anymore. They sleep in yurts instead.
Just what is a yurt? Well, a yurt is a bent-wood structure that looks like a wooden hut from the outside. It has a crown, which is a hole at the top of the arrangement, and is surrounded by roof ribs that are bent at their ends to meet up with the lattice’s steam bent walls. Covering the top of the yurt’s walls is a tension band to make sure that the wood doesn’t spread or fall apart because of tension. A yurt is also portable.
Yurts were traditionally used only by Turkiqnomads found in the plains of Central Asia. Now, yurts have made their way into the city and into the bags of aspiring campers. Yurts are slowly become more popular than tents because yurts are more flexibly and comfortable to work with. They can be customized to your taste. Decorate the inside to make it feel more like home, or leave it as it is for a feel of nature.
Aside from providing the campers with more comfort than a tent can offer, yurts have also become popular camping structures because of how sturdy they are. Yurts can be used on any camping trip, with any type of weather, for the whole year round. In warm places, the yurt’s crown allows cool air to flow inside the structure. During rain, the crown can simply be covered to prevent rain from entering. Yurts can even be used in places with high winds because of their round shape. The wind simply flows around it.
Each year, more and more yurts are being bought and rented by campers around the globe. This is simply because yurts are more comfortable and safe than tents. A tent, for example, can trap a family into the confines of the tent’s walls in times of rain. A yurt, however, allows the family to stand, walk around a little and still have fun. Trying out a yurt for your next trip is not a bad idea. This might make your camping experience an even better one to remember.
Do not forget to pack a couple of scary ghost stories, it’s most popular with kids, next to roasting marshmallows on the campfire
