The Uk’s Best Music Festivals

The UK is home to some of the best music festivals in the world, and for many people they are the highlight of the summer season. The largest events attract festival goers and bands from all over the world enabling many punters to see some of their favorite bands; all within the space of a single weekend. The range of festivals means there is always something to suit everyone. Even if you are considering taking your family there is sure to be a festival that suits you.

Glastonbury Festival – Glastonbury is arguably the most famous summer festival in the UK. This is another event that sells out very quickly when they go on sale. Previous acts have included The Prodigy, Radiohead and Kings of Leon.

V Festival – This two day festival takes place in Chelmsford and Staffordshire and features some of the best pop acts in the country. The artists that perform on the Saturday swap venues on Sunday so both the South East and the North Midlands festival goers get to see their favourite acts. The V Festival has boasted the likes of Lily Allen, Fatboy Slim and Paolo Nutini.

Great Reasons To Go To A Music Festival

Music festivals are great fun, and should be something that everyone experiences at least once in their life. Going to a festival with a group of friends can be really good fun and there isn’t really much that compares. Even if you’re not a big music fan, most festivals have plenty of other things to offer such as art, bars and many other forms of performing arts besides music. First Time At A Festival: Tips

It can be quite daunting going to your first music festival, especially if you’re not going with people who have experienced it before. But don’t worry because there are some top tips that will help you survive the festival season and have the time of your life.

Traveling

Planing on how you will travel to the festival is one of the first things to get sorted. Most events will have coached organised to bring people in from major cities, so that could be a good and cost effective way of getting there. Car sharing is another great idea as it can really help everyone save money and be green at the same time. When you’re thinking about what to take, make sure you read the terms and conditions of entry as lots of events have a blanket ban on glass. So if you’re taking a load of booze, make sure you take it in plastic containers to save it being confiscated. Remember that you will probably have to carry your stuff quite a long way so never pack too much, travel light and make your life nice and easy.

Picking Your Camping Spot

After walking for what seems like miles to the campsite, it’s tempting just to pitch your tent in the nearest available spot. But try and refrain from doing this because you want to make sure you’re in a decent area. We all know the weather is not always kind to us during festivals, so you don’t want to be in an area that is likely to flood your tent. For the beer guzzlers among you, you should know that to purchase a beer you’ll have to buy vouchers first and go to a separate bar to exchange drinks. If you plan on drinking a lot over the weekend then you should load up on vouchers instead of buying one at a time to save you from queuing.

Keep Clean

Living in a campsite for a few days is a messy affair and even though a festival is not the cleanest of places make sure you take wet wipes to replace the shower. Also, take antibacterial hand sanitizer with you which will come in handy after a trip to the portaloo. It’s impossible for security services to keep track of everything going on in the area so there are a few things you can do to stay safe. Make sure you keep all of your valuables with you at all times, even in the sleeping bag while you’re down for the night. Also, put locks on your tent while you’re away from the campsite to prevent any thefts. This is probably one of the most important tips out of them all. Make sure you have appropriate footwear such as wellies and boots. We all know the British summer can let us down so refrain from taking your best designer shoes and don’t risk getting your flip flops stuck in the mud.

Be A Counselor In A Summer Camp And Experience A Cool Vacation

Have you ever though of spending your summer working in a summer camp looking after the camp students? If you love kids then this could be a great way to spend your summer. You could actually earn extra cash for doing something that you really enjoy.

A lot of the summer camps prefer to have experienced counselors on hand to help with the kids or at least somebody that has previous experience at working at similar types of camps.

There are however jobs at these camps providing you are 18 or over. You must either have a work visa or be a U.S. citizen. But some of the camps have in the past used foreign exchange students to help out.

The role of camp counselors is not to be taken lightly. You will inevitably be a role model to the students and should be on hand in case they have any issues or problems. You will also be required to help motivate them when learning new skills. There may be times when some of the camps students need extra care such as help with their feeding or other such things.

For those that have an outgoing personality and absolutely love the outdoors there are often facilitator jobs at these camps. You would be there to teach the students all about hiking, swimming and many other pursuits that are available at these summer camps.

There are may other types of vacancies that the summer camps are trying to fill such as Nurses, program leaders, teachers, support staff and many more besides.

As long as you are patient and love to work with children then there is every possibility that there is a job at these summer camp just waiting for you.

The rate of pay for counselors and facilitators at the summer camps are generally in the region of $200 each week. This is after you get your fee lodgings and free meals so it can be quite nice to earn a little extra for doing something that you enjoy.
